This weekend SHARK-men took to the track for the fourth round of the MotoGP Championship at Jerez, Spain. The British Superbike Championship continued from Oulton Park, Cheshire and the Tandragee 100 road races in Northern Ireland.
At Oulton Park, Danny Buchan dominated the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 class all weekend. He was the fastest in every session on track, secured pole, a lap record and won the race. He now leads the championship by 10 points. Fellow SHARK-man David Johnson completed the podium in third place and sits fourth in the overall standings.
There was another SHARK win in the Motul British Motostar Championship for Jordan Weaving, who also set the fastest lap time and Chris Taylor took his first podium in third place.
In the MCE British Superbike race SHARK-men James Westmoreland and Jon Kirkham finished both races in the top ten. In the first race Westy finished eighth after making a come back from last place after being pushed off the track, he finished the second race in sixth place. Meanwhile Kirkham finished ninth and tenth.
The Pirelli National Superstock 600 race saw pole-setter Ben Godfrey crash out, unhurt and Kyle Ryde just off the podium in fourth place. The Motorpoint British Supersport Championship saw Luke Jones finish race one in fourth place and seventh in race two. Meanwhile in race two in the Evo category, Alex Olsen took the win.
The MotoGP paddock travelled to the Spanish circuit Jerez, which saw Aleix Espargaro finish in the points in seventh place. In Moto2 Johann Zarco finished in eighth, rookie Sam Lowes had an unlucky weekend plagued with tyre issues and eventually crashed out of the race on the 18th lap.
In Northern Ireland for the Tandragee 100 road races Ryan Farquhar made a triumphant return to the roads winning two races and scoring his 200th and 201st race wins.
