Portuguese pilot evaluates last season positively

In the aftermath of the last season, and already preparing the next with several news and ambition, Miguel Oliveira met on last Friday some of his closest friends, fans and sponsors for a press conference followed by a dinner-party. After a balance of 2013′s challenges, the evening also involved a solidarity auction in favor to AssociaçãoAlmadenseRumoaoFuturo, where the rider gives his face to helping.

Miguel Oliveira, who won the first pole of his career this year- and he is the first Portuguese in any category of the MotoGP World Championship to achieved that– has registered, more than once, the fastest lap on track and also reach to the podium. He showed himself quite satisfied with the work developed and confident for the next challenges.According to the rider: « The project started a little late. The first time we get on the track was in February. The youth project did not allow us to achieve best results but the team and the partners worked very hard and that was the key for this great season.” The Portuguese rider has finished very optimistically: « We have many ambitions for 2014. We want to fight for the world championship title, and conquer regularly a place on the podium. »

Pedro Nuno was also present at the dinner, the young promise that Miguel Oliveira will mentor next year: « Pedro Nuno is a young man with a lot of talent. I want to use my 10 year experience to help him to improve his riding and to make right moves at the right times », he said.

Throughout the press conference, Miguel Oliveira also emphasized all the kindness and support of his fans at each stage, such as the extra boost of motivation from AssociaçãoAlmadenseRumoaoFuturo, in the last race of the Moto GP season in Valencia, where the rider used the helmet designed by Laura Ramos, result of the challenge launched by the Portuguese rider. The young rider and student of the first year of medicine remarked, « It made perfect sense to support this institution especially after knowing the users. When I was there the interaction with them was great and fun although the communication wasn’t always easy. Basically, they all showed their gratitude in many different ways. One of our aims is to inform about the institution and make it be known to be more supported as it deserves.
